Working-class students denounce 5.5% tuition increase!

MADISON, WI—The Working Class Student Union (WCSU) today called on the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents to reverse its 5.5% tuition increase or provide working-class students with a dollar-for-dollar match between increased tuition and their financial aid.

Dear UW Board of Regents,

I write to you today on behalf of the Working Class Student Union in regards to the recent passage of a 5.5% tuition increase for all undergraduate students attending the University of Wisconsin’s four-year institutions.

The Working Class Student Union is hiring for two paid positions for the ‘09-‘10 year. These include the Communication Secretary and Finance Secretary positions. Terms and training will begin on July 1, 2009. Final applications are due 5 PM on Wednesday, April 22.
